So I just wanted to take the time to apologize for my absence! I have been on a whirlwind journey the past few months and I have not had much time to read let alone write a blog!
In November of last year I was informed that I qualified to become a CTE teacher. That same month I interviewed and was accepted for a job as a Junior High Tech teacher. Since then it has been nothing but excitement, planning, adjusting and interacting with the students, curriculum and administration.
When Spring break rolled around I finally felt like I might have time to read, and even promised an author a review by the weekend. However, that kind of went out the window when our state informed us that schools would be closed for three weeks due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Since then I have been learning new online resources in order to provide materials for my students and waited in anticipation for an official closure date to be announced. We have now officially closed schools for the rest of the year and things are starting to settle into a pattern in terms of teaching online.
I feel very blessed to have been given this amazing opportunity to teach even though it has come with challenges and unexpected direction changes. I am finally getting to use my college degree for something that I believe in and love. This is literally my dream job, to teach students about technology and the resources they can use if they only take the time to learn them.
So, my dear followers, again I apologize for being absent from the blog. I do hope that within the next month I will be reading and blogging again, but this may be something that gets put on the shelf until Summer. Thank you all for your amazing support!
